2021 NYC, From Pandemic to Recovery

In 2019, the world came to a sudden stop as the coronavirus pandemic spread everywhere. Everyone was stuck at home or in our neighborhoods, feeling frustrated and missing the freedom we took for granted before. Then, in 2021, there was a ray of hope with the rollout of COVID-19 vaccines. This long-awaited remedy made us all dream of traveling around the world again, breaking free from our quarantines. For me, the place that captured my imagination was New York City.

Visited several times before the pandemic, New York City was always amazing to witness the mix of rapid change and deep-rooted tradition. It is a city that’s always moving and evolving but never loses its unique atmosphere. As the pandemic unfolded, I couldn’t help but wonder how much this dynamic city had changed, and how the New Yorkers and visitors adapted to life in a city that had come to a standstill. 

With a mix of curiosity and excitement, I decided to rediscover New York. This trip was more than just a visit to a favorite place; it was about exploring the resilience, adaptation, and enduring spirit of a city that never loses its vibrancy, even in tough times.
