League of Legends, T1 Faker
October 2024 League of Legends, a 5 vs 5 team-based game by Riot Games with over 140 champions, hosts an annual professional tournament known as the "World Championship," where the best teams from each region compete for the title.

T1 is the professional team from the LCK (League Champions Korea) being the tournament’s most successful team, led by their iconic franchise player, Faker, Lee Sang Hyeok.

This short animation honors Faker as he returns for his record-breaking ninth World Championship appearance as a defending champion. Synced to the 2023 World Championship theme song, "Gods" by NewJeans, the animation captures the essence of Faker's legendary return, embodying his iconic title, the "Unkillable Demon King."

A brutalist design approach—reflecting Faker's fearless persona and the raw intensity of competition—emphasizes T1’s bold red and black color scheme, enhanced by gritty halftone and grunge textures. Applied to both typography and backgrounds, these textures highlight quotes from Faker featured in the 2023 World Championship matchup trailer.

Style Frame


The initial animation sketch was crafted into a refined style frame, highlighting T1's signature colors— black and red —paired with bold typography and images of Faker and his iconic champion, Azir, symbolizing the emperor in the League of Legends.
